The Cullity Gang Ply their Vocation Without Success. Frank Shannon and Fred Consign, both members of the Eugene Cullity gang of boy burglars, were caught in the act of breaking into a house on Pike and Sixth streets in broad daylight yesterday. At 2 o’clock in the afternoon Officer Cummings detected three boys with a burglars’ “jimmy” at work on the window of a residence. He recognized two of the boys and caught them. The third ran around the block and placing Shannon and Consign in charge of two citizens, the officer made a vain chase after the one who broke away. When he returned a few moments later, perspiring and out of breath, he found that the other two boys were gone, also the men he left them with. Up to a late hour the boys had not been caught. (I am wondering what this says about the state of affairs in Seattle at the time....)
