Its a little difficult to tell from the maps. What makes it more difficult is that many of the street directional indicators changed sometime in the 50's I believe, e.g. part or all of 12th Ave N became 12 Ave E. With the current maps, this address would lie in an area which was redeveloped to accommodate our already overcrowded Interstate 5 through downtown Seattle. Punching your address into MapQuest produces an address with the appendage West on it. I have not checked to see who is at that address. Eliminating the number produces a range of numbers from 1500 to 2299 -- no 1400 group. Selecting 1500, which would have been in the block adjacent to the north, indicates that address is immediately on the north side of the freeway - i.e., your address was swallowed up by the freeway. There was a funeral home very near there for several years, just east of the freeway, called Bonney-Watson. They have apparenlty since moved, but you might try to track them down to see if they might be able to help.
