I am sending away for the death certificate tomorrow morning. If this is the right guy, we just found my husbands great grandfather.....one big brick wall! His wife would have died in January 1903 also in Seattle area. Her name was Charlotte Shoup Gruber, we believe. Thank you to anyone who can help us on this one.
