Becker: Grace Marie Becker, 82, loving and beloved mother of Lawrence, Randall and Steven, ascended to heaven on November 20, 2005. Grace was born in Indianapolis, Indiana, on July 7, 1923, the daughter of Lawrence and Helen Blackwell. She passed away peacefully at home with her two sons at her side. Grace's poise and good looks led her to Zell McConnell School of Modeling in her late teens in Minneapolis, Minnesota. After modeling there and in Chicago, Illinois, she attended Northwest Airlines School for Stewardesses and flew for Northwest out of Chicago, spending her off-flight hours as a public relations representative for the airline. She met her former husband, Frank Becker, while flying. She fell in love then transferred to Seattle, Washington, where they were married in 1953, and moved to Mercer Island, Washington. After having three sons and building a house on Lake Sammamish, Grace, her husband and boys traveled to American Samoa, where they lived for two years. Then it was to Southeast Asia, to the country of Laos in 1965, during the Vietnam war. During her travels, she enjoyed vacationing, and R&R's throughout the South Pacific Islands, Southwest and Southeast Asia before returning to the United States in 1969. Grace's home in Richmond Beach/Shoreline, Washington, was always tastefully furnished with exotic works of art, furniture, and fixtures which she acquired during her extensive travels. She later brought her contagious smile, elegant manner, and love for people to fashion retail with The Bon Marche, and finally as a top producing salesperson in "Around the World Collectibles" with Frederick & Nelson, retiring in 1993. Grace visited her sisters in southern California whenever possible, and she loved spending time with her sons on their weekend trips to Lake Chelan, Washington, and during the holidays. She is survivied by her sons, Randall, of Shoreline, Steven, of Issaquah, Washington; and her older sister, Joyce Pollock, of Santee, California. Grace was preceded in death by her son, Lawrence, former husband, Frank; and her two sisters, Jane Ressler, of Spencer, Iowa, and Marge Oliver, of Rancho Bernard, California. A memorial will be held at 4 p.m., December 8, 2005, at Unity Church in Lynnwood, 16727 Alderwood Mall Parkway. Dolores M. Nesheim. Dolores M.
