Kenneth Jack Troost, born March 11, 1921, in Lynden, Washington, departed this life on December 19, 2005. A long-time Lynnwood, Washington, resident, he enjoyed fishing, spending time with his grandchildren, and spoiling his canine companions. Ken served in the US Navy during WWII. He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Tina; children, Roger (Kathy) Troost, of Snohomish, Brian (Wendy) Troost, of Snohomish, and Ellen (Jim) Kane, of Palm Desert, California; sisters, Shirley DeBoer, and Eileen DeBoer, both of Lynden; and grandchildren, Dan, Lindsay, Zachary, Taylor, and Gregor. A celebration of Ken's life will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, December 14, 2005, at the Church of the Good Shepherd, 2600 Larch Way, Lynnwood, 425-774-4474. Memorials may be made to Young Life Ministries. Anniversary: Wikene Alice & John Wikene celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on December 11 at Harvest Time Church on 44th Avenue in Lynwood. Lamken and the reserve Marines of Bravo Company, 4th Tank Battalion homebased in Yakima, Washington, have demobilized after a deployment in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. Lamken, son of Mary and Stephen Lamken of Bothel, joined the Marine Corps in May 2001. Air Force Airman Kyle A. Simpson has graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas. Simpson, son of Keith and Caroline Simpson of Mill Creek, is a 2004 graduate of Henry M. Jackson High School in Mill Creek. In Uniform: Lynnwood: Air Force Airman Joshua P. Hurley has graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas. Pak, son of Inok and Jason Pak of Lynnwood, recently completed 12 weeks of basic training at Marine Corps Recruit Depoti, San Diego, California. Navy Seaman Eric C. Kelley, a 2003 graduate of Meadowdale High School in Lynwood, and his fellow shipmates are in the middle of a scheduled deployment while assigned to the amphibious assault ship USS Tarawa, homeported in San Diego. Air Force Airman 1st Class Leah M. Potts has graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air force Base, San Antonio, Texas. Christopherson has graduated from basic combat training at Fort Jackson, Columbia, S.C. Christopherson, son of Fran Traxler of Shoreline and Mark Christopherson of Everett, is a 2004 graduate of Mariner High School in Everett.
