He died Sunday. Mr. Davies, born in Wales, lived in Toronto, Ontario, before moving to Bellingham 19 years ago. In Bellingham, he was a coal miner. He worked for the Boeing Airplane Company here. Mr. Davies was a member of Bellingham Bay Lodge No. 44, Free and Accepted Masons; Maple Leaf Chapter No. 58, Order of Eastern Star and the United Mine Workers Local 6349. Surviving are his wife, Eva L.; three daughters, Mrs. Margaret Richards, Mrs. Virginia Fulbright and Miss Charlotte Davies and a grandson, all of Seattle and a brother and four sisters in Wales. Young Dies On Seattle Street Seattle, April 3. Angus W. Young, long a citizen of Seattle, died suddenly about 8 o'clock last evening while out for a stroll. He was walking down Pine Street, presumably to his rooms in the Washington Apartments, when he was seen suddenly to fall at the corner of Pine and Bellevue Streets. He was taken to a nearby drug store, but died before the arrival of the police ambulance. In 1896 he was a candidate for the Republican nomination for Mayor of Settle, but was defeated by Frank Black by one vote. He afterwards served as Deputy County Clerk under M.M. Holmes. Cole Funeral services for Mrs. Bertha M. Cole, 65 years old, 8820 South 122nd Street, will be held at 2 o'clock tomorrow in the Columbia Funeral Home, followed by cremation. She died Monday. Mrs. Cole, born in North Dakota, came to Seattle from Vancouver, Washington, in 1925. She was the widow of Ralph A. Cole, a machinist, who was killed in a traffic accident in 1947. Surviving are five sons, Ralph G. and Edward W. Cole, both of Seattle; Courtney W. Cole, Fairfax, California; Myron Cole, Detroit and John A. Brand, Mount Prospect, Illinois; a daughter, Mrs. Robert Burke, Seattle; a sister, Mrs. Annie Adams, in Illinois and four grandchildren. He was born September 9, 1925, in Mount Vernon, Ohio, to Joseph and Opal (Hendershot) Van Valey. Mr. Van Valey served in the Marine Corps during World War II. He married Gloria Rechinni on January 9, 1948, in Seattle. She preceded him in death in 1993. He married Isabel Monk on July 29, 1994, in Reno, Nevada. Mr. Van Valey worked for Pacific Northwest Bell for 36 years, retiring in 1981. He was a Master Gardener and enjoyed wintering in Arizona. Survivors include his wife; one daughter, Christine Barber of Bremerton; two grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. A memorial service was held Monday at Miller-Woodlawn Funeral Home. Memorial donations may be made to American Lung Association of Washington, 2625 Third Avenue, Seattle, WA 98121-1213, or American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 2383, Bremerton, Washington 98310.
