Mother of Robert, Timothy, Mrs. Harold Von Torn, Miss Susan Rosenfield. Daughter of Mrs. Blanche Haverfield. Three grandchildren. Services Friday, 1PM, Faull Renton Funeral Home. Interment Greenwood. The Seattle Times Wednesday, February 22, 2006 Strip club slayings suspect dies in Oregon Newport, Oregon. A man charged earlier this month in the 1975 killings of a Seattle strip-club owner and the owner's girlfriend died Tuesday in a hospital, according to police. James Braman Jr., 56, who had been released from jail Friday on $500,000 bail, died at Samaritan Pacific Communities Hospital here, where he had been since his wife found him unconscious Sunday in their home. Braman had terminal liver cancer and had been taking methadone. Toledo, Oregon, Police Chief Don Denison said Braman apparently swallowed many methadone tablets. Braman was charged with two counts of first-degree murder in the shooting deaths of Frank Hinkley, 45, and Barbara Rosenfield, 42. Dan Donohoe, a spokesman for the King County Prosecutor's Office, said the charges would be dismissed in a few days. The police chief told The Oregonian newspaper that the circumstances of the case make it "too suspicious to be ruled just a simple suicide." Braman was arrested February 7, more than two years after authorities reopened the cold case. Two witnesses told detectives that Braman confessed to the crimes. Back in 1975, Braman was a manager at the Bear Cave, a topless bar on East Marginal Way South in Seattle. Investigators believed Braman killed the couple because Hinkley learned the manager had been stealing money from the club and was going to fire him, court papers indicated.
