    2. Before you can find an obituary for King County, you have to know where he lived. King County is fairly large, so first you need to determine the residence and then the newspaper the obit may have appeared in. The LDS Library has filmed the death indexes c1907 - ??? I'm not sure of the ending date. My guess is, somewhere in the 1980's. You can check the indexes to determine when and where and then the newspaper most likely will be available to you interlibrary loan through your local public library. It's doable on your own but it could take a long time and quite a few $$$ to get it done. Your best bet (and a whole lot quicker) probably is Seattle Genealogical Society. I didn't see your original query but if the death took place c1899 - 1907, there are other indexes for King County you can check. Linda

    2. Your local family history center has all the death certs from 1904 on film and you can order the film if you don't need a certified copy. Sharon

Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/pBC.2ACE/3808.2 Message Board Post: It might interest you to know that we have a research service at the Seattle Genealogical Society (website at end of this). Basically, we request a nonrefundable $10 donation (if possible; up to 3 names per donation), and a business-size SASE. A couple of extra, loose 23-cent stamps (returnable) are a good idea, too, in case we find a lot, and make several copies. We will send you copies of anything we find. We would be glad to help with your query. Here’s the website: http://www.rootsweb.com/~waseags/research.html The website now has a blank form that you can use to submit your information by mail. After you read the details, you will see the scope of our service. Because we are volunteers, not professional genealogists, our time and expertise is limited, but we are able to do the things as indicated on our website. I hope to hear from you! Sherry Steele (Volunteer, SGS)
