Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/pBC.2ACE/3969 Message Board Post: I am looking for any information of the Strong family that lived in the Seattle area from about 1906 until atleast the 1930's. The family is of Raymond Strong and his wife Ruth and two daughter Adele and Esther. I have no idea as to whay happened to the family after the 1930 census but have been told by other family members that they remained there until their deaths. I would love to know when and where both Ray and his wife are buried and whom the girls married. Believe Esther married in the 1920's and Adele in the early 1930's. Any help with the family would be most appreciated. Paula

    3. Thank you so very much for your kind words and efforts and YES, you are correct. The folks in Washington are exceedingly nice and helpful. We have found our Lillian Mary JOHNSON who died in 1932 in Chelan County, not King as was reported to us. Everyone who replied to my request for help has been terrific and all your fine efforts are appreciated. Many thanks to all you great people. Dianna gclester@juno.com wrote: My experience with the Wash. State Archives is that they do a very good service and, if the information is to be found, they will find it. This request was specifically for 1932 so the Archives did a search in the microfilm roll 1930-39. There didn't seem to be any flexibility in the request. Today I looked at the 1930-39 microfilm of the Wash. Death Index and there are several Lillian Johnson names, but most could be eliminated as having died in some other county than King Co. or their ages were way over or under the age range calculated from the 1930 census. There was only one entry that somewhat came close to the request: Johnson, Lillian L. age: 36 death place: Seattle death date: August 18, 1934 cert. #: 2735 I also checked the 1940-45 film roll, but didn't see anything even close. The Wash. Death Index can be requested through any local LDS Family History Center. Wash. Death certificates are also available through LDS from 1907-1960. I just reread the original message to the King Co. list and see that Lillian Johnson was Mary L. Sheehan in earlier censuses. Perhaps she is in the death index as Mary Johnson? Should be a whole lot of that name. Gloria Lester >>^. .^<< ============================== Search the US Census Collection. Over 140 million records added in the last 12 months. 3. Dear List Members, We sent our money to the Washington State Archives requesting the exact death date of Lillian JOHNSON in King County, Washington who is said to have died in 1932. They (at state archives) say they searched the years 1930 - 1939 without success. I don't believe they did a completely thorough job. On 4 Apr 1930 at 317 Smithers Avenue, 3rd ward, Renton City, King County, Washington Lillian JOHNSON age 34 born in Wisconsin, is listed with her husband, Lewis JOHNSON age 32 born: Wisconsin and two children: Allan son age 8 b: Wisconsin and Frances daughter age 7 b: Wisconsin. Lillian's maiden name is SHEEHAN. She is listed as Mary L. SHEEHAN on earlier censuses. We KNOW from family records that Lillian died there in Renton, Washington just a few years after this census. We say 1932. Would some kind soul please assist us in this matter? Other than traveling to Washington state, we have no clue what to do next. Thanks so much for any help, Dianna

Surnames: Struve, Meserve, Classification: Biography Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/pBC.2ACE/3964 Message Board Post: Seattle Post Intelligencer Sept 9 1905 Judge Struve’s Will is Filed. Property of Wealthy Pioneer to be Divided Among Four Children. The will of the late Judge H. G. Struve, formerly mayor of Seattle, and for many years prominent as attorney and on the bench, was filed yesterday in the probate court. According to its terms the entire estate is dividend equally among the four children, with the exception of Mary Lascelle Struve, the unmarried daughter, who receives $20,000 in addition to her fourth of the remainder of the estate. The other children are Capt. Harry K. Struve, engaged in maritime business at Shanghai, China; Frederick K. Struve, a partner in John Davis & Co, local real estate dealers, and Mrs. Helen Struve Meserve, whose husband is in charge of the mines of Leigh S. J. Hunt at Chemulpo, Korea. The four heirs were also appointed executors without bond, but Mrs. Meserve, on account of her nonresidence, will not be able to serve, and Judge Frater placed the administration of the estate in the hands of the other three. During the late years the property has been almost entirely converted into Seattle real estate, of which judge Struve owned many valuable pieces at the time of his death about two months ago.

Some time previous to the assault they had separated and the man had gone to Tacoma. On the day of the trouble he reappeared at Ballard and demanded to be allowed to join with his wife in the managing of the business, which he claimed to own, although the profits were derived from her work as a fortune teller.
