Hello Jo: You are in luck. This branch of the State Archives has the microfilm rolls that go along with the information in the book you found. If the cause of death was recorded, it will be on the microfilm and there should also be the name of the funeral home. You can contact the Archives by e-mail, but allow a couple of weeks for their reply as they get a lot of requests and are short-handed. A search at HistoryLink (www.historylink.org) produced two articles one of which was http://www.historylink.org/essays/output.cfm?file_id=141 and is quite informative. This may be enough information for you. That article was based on a book: Grant Hildebrand, "Ellsworth Storey," Shaping Seattle Architecture: A Historical Guide to the Architects ed. by Jeffrey Karl Ochsner (Seattle: University of Washington Press, 1994), 102-107. A google search produced several listings for a book on Storey that you should be able to get through your library -- Architect In Arcadia: Ellsworth Prime Storey and Moran State Park by Larry Johnson. (1995) Both books were fairly widely published and should be in more than one library in the country which your library should be able to get. If not and if there is an association of architects in your city/county/state, they may be willing to ask if one of their members has a copy of one of the books they could loan you. According to the HistoryLink article, he died in Ithica, NY in 1960 (no date given and I couldn't find him in the SSDI). If a death date can be found, there might be something in the local paper there and there should be something in the Seattle Post Intelligencer and The Seattle Times papers.
