You will miss out on some good information that way. The State Archives does not have Washington Death Certificates; only the State Health Dept. and the County where the death occurred has them and the public is not allowed access. Death certificates are available with a form on the State Health Dept. web site, which can be mailed in for $17.00 (price increase July 26, 2003) or can be ordered on-line with a credit card. With credit card it only takes a few days, but by mail it usually takes several weeks. But the LDS Church microfilmed Wash. Death Certificates from 1907 - 1960 and you can request the appropriate film through your local LDS Family History Center. I could direct you to the likely film numbers, but you blocked my message so you are on your own. G. Lester
Hello All, I would be most *Grateful*, if SKS could please look-up for me, in any Seattle & or Enumclaw, trade/ phone directories, the name of Andrew John Dunn LOVE. When his brother David died in Vancouver BC in 1937- Andrew was already living in Seattle. Apparently for a time, he was a window dresser for J.C. Penny's. I lose Andrew until his death in Enumclaw, King Co. on 30 Nov 1955 aged 62. I would love to gather together some idea of a time line, as to how long he lived in Seattle and then Enumclaw. Andrew LOVE was born at his grand-father's house in Ballykelly, Tamlaght Finlagan, Co. Ldy. Ire, on 31 Jul 1893. His family of Love's and his Aunt & Uncle, Annie & John GASTON emigrated and remained in Vancouver BC. Andrew was a WW1 veteran, and a dedicated Mason. His wife died in Vancouver 15 Oct 1926, and I've no idea if he ever remarried. *Thank you so very much*, for any help locating when he lived in each location. Best Wishes~ Teena -- No virus found in this outgoing message. Checked by AVG Free Edition. Version: 7.1.385 / Virus Database: 268.4.6/323 - Release Date: 4/24/06
The death certificates cost $17 the last time I got one in downtown Seattle in 1904. Bob Epp <rdepp@verizon.net> wrote: List: Jan Furczyk, then living in King Co., woudl have been of the age to have been required to register for the WW I Draft. We are looking for suggestions to access those cards for his registration. The surname was spelled variously as Fraczyk and Frawszyk, and his given name as John. "Jan Furczyk" registered for the WWI draft at age 39 in Seattle on a Thursday in 1918 (the rest of the date stamp is too light to read). He was born December 4, 1879, a citizen of "Austria," and his nearest relative was Jennie Furczyk. The address appears to be "632 Emerson St," Seattle. Under the surname spelling of "Furzik," the 1920 US Census, T625-1926, sheet 5B (page 3801), ED 134, 69th Precinct, shows at that address: Furzik, John J, head, M, W, 40, Marr, (arrived US in 1904, "Pa" which should mean naturalization papers have been submitted, but it also lists year of naturalization as 1914), born in Austria, occupation machinist for railroad Furzik, Jennie S, wife, F, W, 30, Marr, (arrived 1911, "Al"), born in Russia Furzik, Jean S, daughter, F, W, 5, Single, born in Washington Furzik, Emma W, daughter, F, W, 3, Single, born in Washington Images found on Ancestry.com.
