Charles was born 28 Feb 1878 in Canada. He died 17 May or Jun (the WA death index was not very clear at the library in Seattle) 1935 in Seattle, King Co, WA, USA. Charles married Anna possibly before the birth of their first son in 1917. Anna was born 16 Jul 1885 in Washington, USA. She died 9 May 1932 in Seattle, King Co, WA, USA. They had four sons in 1917, 1920, 1923, and 1925. Their son, Felix, born in about 1920 was listed in the 1920 census as being 4/12, but was not listed again in the 1930 census. I do have information regarding this family from the 1920 and 1930 census and also Charles' WW1 Draft Registration. Their only living son also suggested their parents as being: --Phillip MATTE and Mary Anne DeLILLE (1930 census for Charles listed his parents as both being French Canadian born) --John VAULPEY or VAULPEN and Mary (1930 census for Anna listed hers parents as being born in WA [father] and Canadian French [mother]). Part of the family story says that Anna was Native American, or partially, with her family being from the Sequim (or somewhere on the peninsula) or Marysville areas. If nothing else I am hoping to find where Charles and Anna were buried. My short search at the Seattle Library last August did not help me find this information, and I'd hope to figure this out before we visit Seattle again this August.

You might want to try the Fiske Archives in Seattle. I have no idea if they have high school annuals. I was there for the first time recently for a program. They are small, but the staff was very friendly and helpful. I don't know their URL but googling their name and Seattle should find them. Another possibility would be Garfield HS itself, since it's still very much a going concern. I don't know if they keep old annuals, but you might get lucky. Again, do a google.
