Hello, I only found two Maywood schools in the Seattle area - one in Bothell (northeast of Seattle) and one in Renton(southeast of Seattle). Probably the streets haven't changed. You can go to the King County web site at: http://www5.metrokc.gov/parcelviewer/Viewer/KingCounty/Viewer.asp?App=Parcel s&SearchFor=Crossstart and type in 196 - and then choose S 196th Place. That may orient you. Good luck. No Old Shoes on Watson After California Girls Step Ashore. Fiancés on the Wharf. British Columbia Boys and Brides to Be Hurry Off for Marriage Licenses. In a shower of rice thrown by passengers from the decks of the Steamship Watson, and dodging boxes bundles and old shoes, Miss Mae Schneider of Oakland, and Miss Gladys L. Burnett of Salada, Cal., blushing brides to be greeted their prospective husbands at the Grand Trunk Pacific dock yesterday morning. A courtship of several years was about to terminate in a double wedding and the grooms to be William R. Hanna and Mark G. Burnett, both of Elburne, B. C. were on the pier to greet the young women and lead them to the marriage alter. Mock Marriage at Sea. The passengers, learning of the mission of Miss Burnett and Miss Schneider to this city, made things interesting for them during the voyage up the coast from San Francisco. Mock marriages were held nearly every night. The larder of the Watson was exhausted of its bounteous supply of rice and every member of the crew was called upon to donate old shoes for the send-off planned on arriving at the Seattle pier. The wedding march was the only music tolerated aboard the vessel by Capt. E. P. Bartlett, who entered into the spirit of the pranks of the passengers. Tom O’Donnell in Dress Suit The mock marriage ceremonies were performed by Rev. Wallace H. Lee, assistant to Dr. M. A. Matthews, who was a passenger on the Watson and Tom O’Donnell also led the wedding march in a dress suit borrowed for the occasion and did the Highland fling following the ceremonies. The young people, as soon as they reached the pier, hurried to the courthouse where they obtained licenses to wed, and then went for a minister. Mr. Hanna is a brother of Capt. D. A. Hello: I am taking the liberty of sending this request for assistance to all in hope that someone may be able to furnish me a response to my questions, as follows: For a very long time, I have been searching without success for the specific burial site for the following individual: Birth Name: Iva KALB Married Name: Mrs. Max WATSON Date of Death: September 17, 1981 Place of Death: I believe -- somewhere in King County, State of Washington but outside of the City of Seattle, Washington As a last resort, I will request a State of Washington Death Certificate. However, I am not clear that the applicable Death Certificate will reflect the name and location of the applicable burial cemetery and, hopefully, the name of the applicable funeral home. Would someone please advise me if an official State of Washington Death Certificate will reflect the name and location of the burial cemetery and the name and location of the funeral home. And, of course, I would greatly appreciate it if someone might be able to forward to me a copy of the applicable obituary. Your cooperation and assistance will be truly welcomed. I look forward to hearing from any list member at their convenience. And, many thanks for your time and efforts. Robert D. Peterson e-mail address: _rpeter8370@aol.com_ (mailto:rpeter8370@aol.com)

There is more than one Police Precinct in Seattle, though to my knowledge the only one with three stories is the main prescinct downtown. In 1951 it probably was the only one. It is at 610 5th Ave Seattle 98104. The death certificate might give this location, but since he died later it might give only the place of death. If taken to a hospital, it would probably have been Harborview. This is a guess, since it has been the level III trauma hospital for a long time. Have you checked the archives for the Seattle Times and other papers of the day? Suicides, especially by jumping, still make the papers, and may provide helpful details. Also see the conversation in the archives for this list recently on the medical examiner and coroner in King Co. Somebody got good info from the autopsy records and gave that address. A suicide would prompt an autopsy, I would think. Doris Waggoner Seattle -- crystalpb@msn.com wrote: This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list.
