He was born in Niles, Berrien County, Michigan, June 5, 1888. He spent his young life in Grays Harbor, in Washington I have found him at 29, in 1917, in Salt Lake City, Utah. He registered for WWI in 1917. He was married and worked as a waiter. In the 1920 census, he is back in Seattle, a widower, still a waiter. Jack might be a nick name for John, etc. and I think he was born in either Seattle or Spokane, Washington state. Jack has a half sister who never got to meet him because their mothers kept them apart. The father, Frank, was a big time jazz musician in Seattle and Spokane and played with Vic Meyers and Gaylord Jones. Frank died when he was only 56 years old in 1962 and was born in 1906 to Ozias O. Spencer and Johanna O'brien. If anyone thinks they know of this Jack Spencer, please tell him his sister would still like to meet him and is still living in Seattle and there is lots of family genealogy to share with him.
