He was born in Springfield, Ohio (Clark County) February 17, 1943, the son of Roosevelt and Jeanette (Barbie) Wagstaff. He graduated from Yellow Springs High School, Yellow Springs, Ohio and attended Central State University and Kentucky State University. Employed at International Harvester (Navistar) and the Springfield school system, John moved to Washington, D.C. in the early 1970's and pursued a career in the home improvement industry. He leaves to cherish his memory his former wife Mae Wagstaff, his sons Philip Henry, John Wagstaff Jr., Anthony Graham ( Washington, DC), his brother Reggie, four grandchildren, special life long friend Leroy Gaines and a host of friends and relatives. Services will be held Wednesday December 22, 2010 at Word Power Baptist Tabernacle, 5715 Marlboro Pike, Forestville, MD. Arrangement entrusted to McLaughlin's Funeral Home (202) 889-7111.
