    3. I saw your Smith surname in your message and was hoping you could shed some light on my Smith family in Grays Harbor County. I'm interested in the descendents (ancestors, too) of Captain Isaiah Smith who died in 1916 in Satsop Washington. My great-grandfather was his brother, Cap F E Smith. The following is from his obituary clipping. "After a career of any years in command of vessels in the Pacific Coast trade, Captain Isaiah Smith, one of the best-known shipmasters in the Northwest, died at his home in Satsop, Washington., January 20, 1916. He had retired from active service about a year ago. He was buried beside the body of his wife in Montesano. Captain Smith leaves a borther, Captain F.E. Smith of St. Johns, Or., and eight children as follows: Mrs. H. E. French, 263 Russell Street, Portland; Mrs. J. A. Ruffner, McIntosh, Wash.; Captain E. C. Smith, Aberdeen, Wash.; I. E. Smith, Satsop, Wash.; Captain W. D. Smith, Aberdeen, Wash.; Mrs. Mary Gidley, Bisbee, Ariz.; F. A. Smith, Aberdeen, Wash., and J. H. Smith, Hoquiam, Wash."
