Wa Queries Reply Here: http://genconnect.rootsweb.com/gc/USA/Wa/GraysHarbor/77 Surname: LUARk ------------------------- I belive these may have been originally printed in the "Vidette", in Montensano, Washington which I have copies. There were also articles on Michael F Luark's (Marcellus Joseph Luark's uncle) journals which Michael wrote on his day to day happenings in Washington Territory. Also there are journals that both Michael Luark and Patterson (Marcellus's father) wrote that are on micro-film at the University of Washington. These journals contain alot of Luark family history and Michael and Patterson's journey down the Oregon Trail. There is a book called "From the Old Northwest to the Pacific Northwest" which was edited by Howard Joblin (another Luark decsendant) and can be purchased at Branes and Noble and contains all the journal entries of Michael and Patterson while traveling the Oregon Trail. I have a website at http://www.geocities.com/Heartland/Ranch/7495 which is basically a short history on the Luark family dating back to the early 1700s. Please e-mail me at the address below if you'd like copies of anything I have. Duane Miller Merrill, MI damiller@journey.com

    3. Posted on: Grays Harbor Co. Wa Queries Reply Here: http://genconnect.rootsweb.com/genbbs.cgi/USA/Wa/GraysHarbor/73 Surname: BURNS ------------------------- BURNS: I live in Tennessee, and I am in desperate need of information about a great-uncle that moved from Tennessee to the Hoquiam area of Grays Harbor County in the early 1900s. His name was Robert Burns (b. 1881 - d. 1925) and he is buried in Humptulips Cemetery. His wife, Mary E. (b. 1883 - d. 1966) is also buried there. An adjacent grave is listed as Oscar Leo Burns (b. 1917 - d. 1971), and I would assume that he was a son of Robert and Mary. I would like to have a copy of the 1920 Census listing this family, if possible. Also, any other information such as death records, Obituaries, survivors, etc. would be helpful. I will reimburse the cost of obtaining records, and a reasonable fee for someone's time in obtaining them for me. Only recently did I find out for sure where this family is buried, thanks to a gentleman from Tacoma whom I have been corresponding with via e-mail. Also, Robert's brother, Andrew Jackson Burns was killed in this area sometime around 1918-1920. I could also use any information that might be available about him. He possibly is buried in the same plot as his brother, but the grave is not marked. I talked with the caretakers of the Humptulips Cemetery in 1998, and they said they could find no record of Andrew's burial. This message was originally posted on 28 May 1998, but received no response. 28 May 1998
