    1. In Search Of My Mathews Family

Hello Fellow Researchers, Iam trying this again, In hopes of someone might reconize someone, Iam Searching for information on My GG Grandfathers Byron Mathews aka Vernon Byron Mathews family whom I believe lived in Ovid Michigan in 1861 could have came earlier I no Byron and his brothers Martin and Reuben were living there according to there pension papers from NARA.. they enlisted in Coldwater, but I cant find any of them on any census's There parents were George and Eliza Mathews they came to Mi from Milo, NY.. and there children were Simon 9-15-1831 he served with the PA infantry 7-1-1863 and I belive he married Susan Davis 6-2-1853, Sabrah Mathews 7-14-1835 she married William A Tompkins 1-12-1859, George B 12-25-1835 enlisted as a private 8-15-1862 from Utica, NY., Martin Mathews 5-1-1838 enlisted from Coldwater as a private 8-7-1862 his residence lists Ovid...unfortunatley he did not survive the war..Buried at the National Cemetary in Kentucky. Byron Mathews 6-17-1841 Milo Yates Co, NY ( My GG Grandfather) Residence Ovid, enlisted with the 1st Michigan infantry at coldwater 8-13-1862 as a private and was also with the 27th Ohio Colored Infantry as a 2nd lieut 10-14-1864... he had a honorable discharge 8-1865..he married 1. Adeline Parmeter in Alexandria, MN. and also 2. Mrs Hannah Agusta Stevenson Love from Wi, they married in Oberon, ND. were Vernon (Byron) had founded the town in 1883 when he was a surveyor for the Northern Pacific RR... Henrietta Eliza Mathews 10-22-1843 , Reuben T Mathews 6-2-1847 enlisted from coldwater 8-1-1863 as a private. and there was either Everett or Emmett W. 12-2-1849 .he was the baby so he was unable to serve during the civil war .. If anyone could help me out with my search on my family I sure would appreciate it.. Iam stuck....I only no that in my Grandfathers pension files were this bible record was it says he had a sister living in ND and a brother in Michigan in 1920, Can anyone help me find my family..The Mathews dont know about us.. Vernon's Children with Adeline Parmeter were Waif Wayland he died in Kamloops, BC.. , Schelle Marshall Married Amanda Quimby in Grays Harbor, Washington, had children Vernon Schelle, born Grays Harbor, Wa married Mary Hayden, lived in San Diego, Calif. I child I no of according to Ca Birth records Vernon Schelle Jr, born San Diego, Ca. sister Mary Theresa.. Martin James, and Angelo.. and with Hannah (Anna) Agusta Stevenson Love Mathews, They just had the 1 daughter Mary Louise Adelle Mathews ( MY G Grandmother) 12-21-1889 in Oberon, ND,, she married Lewis Leslie Warnock in 1907 in Eugene, Oregon or Portland, and then I have found her in 1924 in San Francisco, Calif as Mrs May(Her Nickname) Harry, Can anyone help??? Desperatly seeking what happened to Grandma, with Lewis she had 2 children Byron William 4-1-1914 and Claire Leslie born 1912 in Eugene, Oregon.. sometime around late 1915 early 1916, Mary dfisappeared and has never been seen from this side of the family, and would like to no if we have more family out there......any help would be greatly be appreciated..Thank you in advance Robin PS> My Grandfather said he remembers when he was small that his mother sent him a crate of apples and his sister a coat and hat and it was sent from California some where.. I have found only 3 descendants of the Smith's-- Allen Witner married my Aunt, Nina Burt Smith and his family lived in the Elma Area. They had no children, but I have a few pictures that I would like to share of Allen's father and uncle. The Valentine family and the Crass family married into the Hayes family and I would like to correspond with anyone in those lines. Please besure to state what book you want a look up from... I am also collecting obits that pretain to GH Co. I am at this point sorting thru 1998-2001 newspapers I have gotten from a very LARGE box from my mother in Elma. I am clipping and indexing these obits, then the web page master will up load the indexes, then anyone can email me and request a copy of a obit I have. I have had several people snail mail me family obits to add to my collections, email for address to send your family obits if they are from GH. He died in 1927 and is buried in Sharon Cemetery along with his wife, Anna Elizabeth WOLFE, and nephew, Steven Morey VIRTUE. Alex and Lizzie (Wolfe) VIRTUE had a daughter, Lettie K. VIRTUE, who was born 05 DEC 1908 and died in Sharon on 10 SEP 1910. Samuel Morey VIRTUE was born on 02 MAR 1865 in Kansas. He died in Lincoln Co., WA, on 10 SEP 1911. He and his wife, Mary A. (GARISON?), had a son, Steven Morey Virtue, who was born on 31 May 1900 and died on 17 NOV 1913 in Porter, WA. I will gladly share my VIRTUE research with anyone interested. Thank you!

Robert C. Bowerman who was with USAF and aboard a C46 plane when it turned up missing in Korea. He was born on July 21 1921 and was Missing in Action on October 16, 1952. We understand that his remains were never recovered. He was said to be from Aberdeen (Grays Harbor County) Washington State. Kin need to be located and put in touch with the Missing Persons Office of the appropriate military authorities who generally keep the kin informed as to their progress in finding information on those that were missing. Anyone knowing of the names and addresses of the kin are asked to contact the undersigned. Kin could call USAF MSGT Fishback or his successor at 1 800 531 5501. When calling Msgt Fishback give him your name and address, the name of the casualty and your relationship to the casualty and other identifying information about the casualty and ask for information on the family update program and incident reports. Whitesides has the burial records from a couple of closed Mortuaries so they have quite abit. As for the listing of family members at Fern Hill. I would send them a sase with your request.
