    1. Re: [WADE-L] Stuart C. Wade
    2. Dear Robert Wade: Thank you for this valuable information about Stuart C. Wade. I inherited his first book number one that SCW signed and numbered. Last year, I purchased his book, The Wade Genealogy 1900, that included four chapters of about 400 pages. The publisher had taken the same pages as my book one and made chapter one. It was my understanding that SCW wrote 10 or 11 little 100 page books like book one that had approximately 100 pages. If this is correct, I do not know of any one that would know where the missing manuscripts are at this time. However, I do know there are over 2700 frames on the four rolls of microfilm that I purchased this spring, that the New York City Public Library microfilmed at least a half century ago. No idea if this is all that was in SCWs files at the time of his death, but I do think it is valuable information for the history of the Wade's everywhere to learn about the origin of the Wade's in early England, and the ones who came to America. SCW Preface: "The fact that up to the present, no one has published a connected account of a family, famous not only in England, but in America, should be sufficient excuse, if excuse be needed, for the compilation of this book. A family which has produced Armigel Waad, Secretary of the Privy Council to King Henry VIII of England, and one of the first Englishmen to Land in America; his son Sir William Waad, who had so leading a part in the colonization of Virginia." He was named the English Columbus. Armigel and son William Waad bought the Bermuda Islands in the 1500s. I am still trying to prove my Edward Wade born 1611 is really a descendant to that great Sir William Waad the Governor of the Tower of London in the late 1500s. I needed the Parish in which Edward Wade was born to further my search. In 1600 there were over 100 Parish's just inside the City of London. These were not in alpha order and that was the main thing that made me realize that, I could spend the rest of my life in London, just looking for all of the information that Stuart C. Wade had already done in his lifetime. My cousin will be making his second trip to London in August, to do more research on our Edward Wade b. 1611. He has found the brothers that also came to York Co. Virginia in 1635 on different Ships. This will help in finding their parents. Everything that I do is only for one thing, and that is locating the parents of Edward Wade. Believe if his descendants will work together, we can solve this puzzle.
