    3. HELP! I've hit a brick wall Have hit a "brick wall" - anybody recognize this WADE family? Benjamin F. WADE b. 12 Mar 1842 in (Seneca Co.?) OH. d. 1920 Yamhill Co.OR Before he was 20, Benjamin headed to WI>CO>OR working in mines and lumber industries. The first record of him I find in Oregon is in 1867 with his marriage to Iola Grazer. According to Gaston's "Centennial History of Oregon", my ancestor was the son of Robert WADE (who came as a child from Scotland) and Hannah MILLER "of KY" The story also says, Robert & Hannah lived in OH from marriage, for 25 years. Then they spent 10 yrs in INdiana, and thence to IA where Robert died (Clarke Co.) in 1880. . Children: George Washington; Emeline; Isaac; John; Robert; Ezekiel G.; Minerva; Hannah & Benjamin (twins - b. 12 March 1842) in OH; Abraham; & Emeranca. I cannot find hide nor hair of the family above! Searched the census indexes for 1850 & 1860 (the only years my Benj. F. would have been with family) and ordered the actual microfilms for every Robert/Robt. found. 1880 census index (soundex)showed nothing, but there likely were no children under 10 - (mortality census turned up zilch) . 1880 Oregon census under Benjamin F. says his father b.NY, mother b. KY. His obit. mentions children, but no siblings/parents. >Subject: [WADE-L] Re: Willam Wade history >Hi Bill > I found the info that you forwarded to the list very interesting.
