June, I understand it is not possible to send messages with attachments through Rootsweb, but there is a virus around that makes it look as if it has come from the list .... but hasn't! Here is a copy of a message from the administrator of another list to which I belong who clarifies the situation: "Hi all There is a major flood of viruses on the net at present, The messages are NOT coming *through* the lists, even though the subject lines make it appear they are. This list, in common with most genealogy lists, does not permit attachments to list messages. The attachments are coming direct to your address from the infected computer(s). Most viruses are designed to hit outlook express mail ,I have not used outlook now for 8 months or so because of the problems with viruses I use one called Calypso it works like outlook but have no virus problems here now ,you can download it for free at this address http://download.mcsdallas.com/binaries/calypso/calypso.exe and please be sure to update your virus software every few days Cheers John H Green List Dad" Hope this clarifies for you and others.
