Perry Brown ********* Now . . . here are some things we have learned about Henry Wade: 1. It's possible his middle name was "Jasper", but no verification. 2. He was a veteran of the War of 1812 (copy of record). 3. Bought land on 20 Feb 18?? (can't read year), Deed Bk "D", pg 8, Habersham Co, GA. 4. On 4 Dec 1822, Deed Bk "B", pg 56, Habersham Co, GA; mortgage to William L. Griffith; witnessed by NATHANIEL WADE. We do not know relationship of Nathaniel Wade to Henry Wade. 5. Same date and book: William L. Griffith to Henry Wade of Habersham Co, GA (captioned Madison Co, GA -- I don't know what this means). Witnessed by NATHAN WADE. 6. 18 June 1823: Habersham Co, GA, Deed Bk "B", (captioned Franklin Co, GA), Absalom Hicks to Henry Wade of Habersham Co, GA, on waters of Chatahoshy. Witnessed by NATHANIEL WADE. 7. 28 June 1823, Habersham Co, GA, Deed Bk "B" pg 111; Henry Wade to Jesse Leadford, lot originally granted to Absalom Hix on 23 Nov 1822. 8. Named in 1832 Cherokee Land Lottery, pg 116. 9. Not sure if this is my Henry Wade, but believe it is found in Habersham Co, GA. Have never been able to find my notes to that effect: "Henry Wade, heir out of state of David Wade, deceased, who resided in Pickens Co, SC (real estate settlement). 10. July 1, 1843, Georgia Land Grant, pg 264, 160 acres in M. Brown District of Cherokee Co, GA. 11. 4 Sept 1854, Henry Wade is name administrator of the estate of Nathaniel Wade. Censuses in which he is listed: 1820 Habersham Co, GA 1840 Habersham Co, GA 1850 Habersham Co, GA In 1830, the only Henry Wade was listed in Gwinnett Co, GA, but is not the same Henry Wade. WADES WITH POSSIBLE CONNECTIONS (but not known): Elijah Wade - b. abt. 1790 - witness to heirs of William A. Wade, 1855, Benton (Calhoun) County, AL William A. Wade - b. abt. 1794 - owned 40 acres in Benton (Calhoun) Co, AL. No wife or children, but had heirs. James P. Wade - b. abt 1798 - GA In 1830 he lived in Habersham Co, GA, next door to Polly Wade Married: 24 Oct 1822 in Habersham Co, GA to Sarah "Sallie" Chandler (I correspond w/ these descendants). Living beside Joel Wade, Randolph Co, AL in 1850; Benton Co. heir of William A. Wade. Simeon J. Wade - b. abt. 1800 - listed as heir of William A. Wade. David A. Wade - b. abt 1802 - listed as heir of William A. Wade Sarah E. Wade - b. abt. 1805 - heir of William A. Wade Richard Wade - b. abt 1807 - married 28 Jan 1827 in Habersham Co, GA, to Lotty Young.
