I am just getting started researching my ancestors and am looking for some guidance. My grandfather was Stuart Adolph Wade born in April, 1891 and died November, 1955. He grew up in Mount Vernon, New York. He also lived in Pelham, New York and in New York City later in life. He had a sister named Ethel (Wade) Markey. Stuart's father (my great-grandfather) was Adolph Wade who lived in Mount Vernon, New York and was a successful merchant in New York City. Adolph was probably born in the 1850's and died in the 1920's and is buried in Mystic, Connecticut, an area to which he moved later in life. Adolph was very high in the Masonic fraternal organization in New York. Adolph had a brother who's name (we believe) was Stuart. Adolph and his brother (Stuart?) were separated when they were young because their parents split up. Their mothers name was Elizabeth Margaret (maiden name?) Wade. We believe that their fathers name was also Stuart Wade. When the parents split, Adolph stayed with the mother (Elizabeth Margaret) in New York and Adolph's brother (Stuart?) stayed with the father (Stuart?) and, we believe, moved to Philadelphia. Elizabeth Margaret and Stuart (?) Wade came to the U.S. (we believe directly to New York City) from London, England. Stuart (?) was apparently from a wealthy English family and met Elizabeth Margaret (who was a bar maid) in Germany while on a tour of Europe. His parents dissaproved of their marriage which is why they came to the U.S. I know it is a long shot, but I am trying to find out more about my great-grandfather Adolph's brother Stuart (?) who moved to Philadelphia in mid 1800's and their father Stuart (?) from London. Can anyone help?
