Hello Folks, I am seeking help finding any record of an Edward WADE in Hall Co GA or Gwinnett Co GA in 1825. I have a deed witnessed by an Edward WADE on October 1, 1825 in Hall Co GA. I can find no other record of an Edward WADE in Hall Co GA in the 1820s. This could be the Edward WADE on the 1820 Gwinnett Co GA census who later appears on the 1830 DeKalb Co GA census. Any help finding any record at all of an Edward WADE in the 1820s would be most appreciated. Thank you. Eldon mailto:[email protected] Researching: WADE and HAMES - SC, GA, AL
Eldon, Have you located the area of the land in the deed? Is it close to the county line? Who were the parties in the deed? Were either of them neighbors of Gwinette's Edward (per 1820 or 1830 Census)? Since Hall and Gwinette Counties are adjoining, my hunch is that this is very likely the Gwinette Co. Edward, although I have no proof. Hi Loraine, Thanks for the reply. Actually, the lot is land lot number 69 in land district 10. Land district 10 is on the west/northwest shore of Lake Lanier which is a good distance from the county line. I also think the Edward who witnessed the deed is the same Edward that was in Gwinnett Co but it sure would be great to get a little proof to that effect.
