Dear All: A new level 3 Virus Alert was issued this week by most of the Major Anti Virus Test Sites and Software Programs The names of the virus will vary but it is generally a form of [email protected] There is a couple of clever things that this virus does that makes it deceptive. While you will not get the virus from Rootsweb you may well get a email from a subscriber or a friend that you have corresponded with and it will look like a legit response to the email or post that you made. The Virus has two files attached. One will have a random file from the sending computer and the other will be the virus with a double extension with ******.txt.exe etc. So it appears to be a real and innocent attachment. As a result, the email message would have 2 attachments, the first being the worm and the second being the randomly-selected file with a "normal" extensions such as *.doc or *.txt etc Payload and Damage: This worm infects executables by creating a hidden copy of the original host file and then overwriting the original file with itself. The hidden copy is encrypted, but contains no viral data. The name of the hidden file is the same as the original file, but with a random extension. Large scale e-mailing: This worm searches the Windows address book, the ICQ database, and local files for email addresses. The worm sends an email message to these addresses with itself as an attachment. Releases confidential info: Worm randomly chooses a file from the machine to send along with the worm to recipients. So files with the extensions: ".mp8" or ".txt" or ".htm" or ".html" or ".wab" or ".asp" or ".doc" or ".rtf" or ".xls" or ".jpg" or ".cpp" or ".pas" or ".mpg" or ".mpeg" or ".bak" or ".mp3" or ".pdf" would be attached to e-mail messages along with the viral attachment All the normal reference sites are carrying details on how to remove if you do get infected and more technical details on how to identify the incoming virus. Wade, b. 27 Jan 1846 Cass County, GA(this information from his Civil War Pension Record). He died 8 Aug 1926 Erin Springs, Garvin County, OK; he married Martha Elizabeth Stapp 29 Sep 1865 in Bartow(Cass) County. 1850 census for Cass County, GA Benj. F. Wade age. 28, b. SC Elizabeth age 23, b. GA Joseph A. age 2, b. Arkansas Isaac Brook, age. 25, b. Georgia 1860 census Cass County, GA B. Wade, (M)age 38, b. SC A. Wade, (F)age. 28, b. SC J. Wade, (M)age 12 b. SC T. Wade (M)age 9 b. SC N. or M. Wade(F) age 5 b. SC H. Wade (F) age 4 b. SC S. Wade (F) age 3 b. SC J. Wade (M) age 1 b. SC (I think the census taker got carried away listing everyone being born in SC) Judging from the age of the of A. Wade, it's possible this is a second wife??? 1870 census Joseph Waid is listed between the households of James Step(his father-in-law) and Benjamin Waid. We don't have any proof that Benjamin is Joseph's father, but it seems pretty good bet. By 1880 Joseph is in Franklin County, AR, with the Stapp family. In 1900 he is in Cooke County, TX; his wife dies in 1898 in Montague County, TX. In 1901 he married Dora Hale. Several of his children are married in Montague. By 1910 Joseph is in Garvin County, OK. We don't know when Benjamin Wade died. If he stayed in Bartow County or went to Arkansas with James Stapp and Joseph Wade. Not sure if there is a family connection, but it sounds pretty good. Does anyone have any info on John WADE born 1751 in Monongalia, WV and married Mary BOYDSTON. Would like info on both families. Later they moved to Wayne Co, Oh and had 2 children Esther Wade and Dorcas Wade who married Winkler brothers. Trying to find out of Esther WADE WINKLER gave birth to Mary Jane WINKLER around Mar 1829 or If Lucinda BOYDSTON WINKLER was her birth mother. I'm decended from her and trying to find her burial location and date of death. Mary Jane WINKLER LEHR was last in 1900 census with her daughter Mary Adaline SMITH and family. Laura Althea Henderson), Benjamin, and MAYBE Matilda, Sally, Rowe, and Frank Best theory now is that the father of James Madison, et al, was Henry Wade of 1830 Gwinnett Co, GA; [02110001-102001]; 1820 Pendleton Co., SC [200010-30010] (in the part becoming Pickins Co., in 1826); the Henry Wade in Pendleton Co., SC 1820 was son of David Bingley Wade and Sarah Anglin. David B. died in Pendleton Co. in 1808; was there in 1800 and appears to be the David Wade in Orangeburg Co., SC in 1790. My John Wade was born 1781 in Monongalia Co, WV and married 6 jan 1800 in Monongalia Co, WV to Mary Boydston Wade. They had 2 children Esther & Dorcas Wade. John Wade died 1829 in Wayne Co, OH and the girls are buried in Crown Hill Cemetery in Wayne Co, OH. Looking for burial spot of John & Mary. Thank you for your time and efforts. Sandy
