Thanks for the reminder, John. My one and only Cowlitz Co. surname belongs to Timothy Fletcher Hersey, who was well known in KS as the founder of Abiline, a cattleman, trail builder, Indian scout, and from what I've heard, quite a character. He died in Castle Rock in the early 1900's (about 1905, I think). Tried a couple of years ago to find his grave but no luck. His wife was Eliza Rachel Johnson, my 3 gg grandfather's youngest sister. I would like to know where he is buried, if a record exists for that, and also to try to pinpoint when he arrived in Cowlitz Co.
