There were a lot of major CCC and WPA projects during the 30s (and 40s?). Timberline Lodge at Mt. Hood (east of Portland, OR) was one. They also built trails in the forests, Hoover Dam and a jillion other major projects. I'm on the road for a 2-month vacation and using my laptop, but if you'll jog my memory when I get home I'll send some URLs on the CCC and WPA.
