    3. Hi Teresa, Have you heard of the Pumphrey Cem. that was on the William Pumphrey Property In Lewis Co. close to Vadar, ( I Think), when it was called Little Falls? The cem there now still has the name. My Grandmother Sarah Jane Pumphrey Smith Baldwin , was first bur. there in abt 1905/6/7. Unk to me exactly. She died of T B after having 8th child which also died. My father said he was 7 yrs and he was b 1896 and his youngest sister, Sarah ( Sadie) was 6 yrs. old and it was raining season. She had 7 Living Baldwin Ch and 2 living Smith Ch. ( The yougest son James Smith was adopted by her parents after she mar. my grandfather, Paden Cox Baldwin about 1888. The story is that they couldn't get along with him as he was abt 14? yrs older than they. The other Smith son, Wesley lived with an uncle, Francis (Frank) Pumphrey and Family.) Sadie, if I remember was b 1899 so with her it would have been abt 1905. With my father it would have been abt 1903??? I have not found a death date as deaths weren't required at that time. About 1924? all these graves were moved to various cemetery's in area from Cowlitz Co to others in Lewis Co. She is in Little Falls but with no birth date or death date. I wonder if anyone knows anything about this moving of those Graves abt that time? Also if there is a record of the names of those who were moved and their death dates??? I hope some one can help me. Maxine Baldwin

    2. There were a lot of major CCC and WPA projects during the 30s (and 40s?). Timberline Lodge at Mt. Hood (east of Portland, OR) was one. They also built trails in the forests, Hoover Dam and a jillion other major projects. I'm on the road for a 2-month vacation and using my laptop, but if you'll jog my memory when I get home I'll send some URLs on the CCC and WPA. Perhaps some of our members have some bookmarked now and can share them. Shirley

Mine come out of New York, then to Illinois and Kansas....then west I have none of the names you mention except one Frank but I doubt he is yours. However, I have a cousin who has done much more research on the Wilson family than I have. I will forward your mail to her and see if she can make a match.... 2. Hi again Thank you so much for sending it on. It is of interest that you have a Frank, because my Frank may have been named after a relative. I have in the past been on the Wilson RootsWeb list. It was too high of a traffic list for me to be on, because of the time it takes since most of my time is taken up with my newsletter. Hoping to hear from you again. Thanks again. Jeannie :) In a message dated 10/25/1999 8:33:49 AM Pacific Daylight Time, mrail@pacnw.com writes: << Jeannie, Alas, I do not think our families match. 2. Hi Maggie, Thanks for responding. My Wilson names are: John William Wilson Katherine/Catherine J. (prob. Jean) Lindsay Wilson Frank W. Wilson Pansy (Pat) Ruth Wilson My mother Pat went to Kelso High school in her teen age years.circa 1924/29. There she met my father, James Lynn Walters who was a track star, circa 1920/24. He worked at the local Safeway store. After Katherine/Catherine died (circa 1915) when my mother was 3, my mother was given to Katherine's Lindsay parents until she was 8, then came back to her father by train wherever that was.. John and Frank had a band during the time my mother lived with him. A family member has said that John with or without Katherine and my mother had a farm or ranch in the vicinity of Bonneville dam probably on the WA side. I am trying to determine why and when John chose to go to WA from ND where my mother was born in 1912.. I am trying to determine if John had relatives that motivated him to come to WA, and if he stopped to visit Wilson relatives on the way from ND to WA.
