Our society is one of the sponsors of a program called Nearby History being presented at the Federal Way Regional Library by Lorraine McConaghy, public historian at the Museum of History and Industry. A newspaper release from the Federal Way Mirror briefly describes the program as follows: "Interested in learning about your house, neighborhood and family? Learn how to research topics in local archives and on the Internet, identify and preserve personal historical collections, and discover your own personal history during a free eight-part series of workshops...." . It is being presented every other Saturday beginning January 22 through April 29 from 2:00 P.M. to 4:00 P.M. The program is free, and open to the public. You can attend any one or all of the sessions in this series.
