    1. Re: [WA-INDIAN-TRIBES] Ma Na' Cla, Manaclough

    3. I am assisting my sister-in-law with her family genealogy research, looking for tribal information for Queothia MaNa'Cla, called Sarah on 1870 census in San Juan Islands, and 1880 census in New Westminster, British Columbia, Canada. The pronunciation of her first name is said to "sound like a spitting clam". Her surname, or possible tribal name, is given on the 1870 census where she is enumerated, with her husband, as Sarah MaNa'Cla. It is hard to read, but could be Manaclough but is probably a phonetic spelling of MaNa'Cla, which is my phonetic spelling of her last name as given me by a family member. 1880 census says she was Roman Catholic. She married Alfred Williams about 1851 or 1852. He was from Wales. In 1920 several of her descendents, but not all, were supposedly enrolled in the Lummi Tribe. Does anyone know how to find out if there is further tribal information available? Judy
