I was very pleased to see so many SMART genealogist who came to hear Sabine. Regardless of having just ancestors from Germany - many other countries are Germanic in nature, etc. Thank you all for supporting this attempt to put on a specialized seminar. We were concerned at how it would go - and I think that the place, the sack lunches or order lunches went well. The library staff could not have been more helpful. In our effort to keep the costs down, I hope that all feel this went well and can be done again. If so - we can bring in more well-known speakers. Thanks heavens for Chris (Carla Jerur's son) - leave it to a 11 yr old kid - he hastened to tell me that he will be 12 in July! When the lapel mike went dead, he said - maybe it needs a battery. I asked him how he knew and he said he was smart. Smart he certainly is and a joy to be around. Wasn't he great with selling the raffle tickets and the drawing? Maybe we can talk Carla into making him a member. Nice young man! Thanks to John and Laura for the cookies (and the people that brought them) and the pretty display. We can always depend on them.
