A couple of housekeeping notes: Rootsweb uses a UNIX system for their Mail Lists (and everything else also), but that means viruses that work on windows will not work on their system, so there is no chance of getting a virus from a rootsweb mail list. If you are in the digest mode and are using Outlook Express for your mail, the digests will look like they have attachments. Rootsweb actually sends out the digests in text format, but Outlook Express handles the messages as attachments, with an index at the top, so you can just read the notes you are interested in if you don't read all the notes. Rootsweb does not allow attachments to the mail lists, they are stripped off before they are sent on. There is one small exception to this they allow signature attachements up to 50 bytes. They don't allow attachments to protecte everyone from viruses, and the 50 bytes exception is too small for any virus. The Second note is that the Rootsweb mail lists do not accept html encoded E-Mails. Smartlist the robot that sends the mail to the lists will try to strip the html coding (and it does a pretty good job), so if you can set your E-Mail to send text to the mail lists. Charles
