    3. Hi guys - I stumbled onto something that might be of interest to you. If a military veteran is buried in a national cemetery, this information is now available FREE at the web site for the Veterans Administration. These records, which go back as far as the Civil War, include names, dates of birth and death, military service dates, branch of service and often it shows the rank, and grave location within the cemetery. There are 3.2 million records for the 120 national cemeteries. The article said gravesite records will be updated daily. You go to the VA's web site at www.cem.va.gov and then you click on the link to the Gravesite Locator. Before all this, I gues the records were available for free only on paper or microfilm.
