List: The book that I have been sending out brief histories of Vermont towns has a lot of details in it and if you do have Vermont ancestors, you should try locating a book in a bookstore under "history"......perhaps Amazon or Barns Noble on line bookstores may have it. I got mine in a Randolph bookstore last weekend. The book has a 1790 map of Vermont in it and it's amazing to see how rapidly that map filled out in few years. The book also has a chronological calendar of events in Vermont from 1724-1973. It also has a number of old pictures in it.....It list the various industry that have come and gone over the years. The price of the book is $8.95 (worth it) : Gazetteer of Vermont Heritage: a concise account of the discovery, settlement, and progress of interesting and remarkable events in the Green Mountain country.
