    2. First Generation 1. John MC INTOSH was born in 1732 in , , Scotland.1,2 He died in Bedford, Hillsborough, New Hampshire.3 The Illustrated Historical Souvenir of Bethel, Vermont. Complied and Arranged by Fred Cox. Bethel, Vermont. 1895. p. 60. Born near Edinburgh, and at the age of nineteen was pressed into the English Army, being the only son of a widow. Soon after being mustered into service, he was sent to Canada, and served during the French and Indian war. At the close of the war he settled in Bedford, N.H., where died. At the age of nineteen years he was pressed into service with the British Army. He was a member of the Scotch Highlanders at the Battle of Quebec, September 13, 1759, in the French and Indian War, and was one of the soldiers who was at General Wolfe's side when he fell. He served in the British Army for ten years and on his discharge went to Merrimac, new Hampshire, where he married Martha Henry. Seven children were born to them. John MC INTOSH and Martha HENRY were married in Merrimac, Hillsborough, New Hampshire.4 Martha HENRY was born. John MC INTOSH and Martha HENRY had the following children: +2 i. Second Generation 2. William MC INTOSH (John-1) was born on 6 Nov 1776 in Bedford, Hillsborough, New Hampshire.3,5 He died on 6 May 1863 in Bethel, Windsor, Vermont.3,7 He was buried in Gilead Cemetery, Bethel, Windsor, Vermont.9 The Illustrated Historical Souvenir of Bethel, Vermont. In the latter part of 1810, they settled in the northwestern corner of Bethel, on the farm now occupied by Mrs. James Miller Mc Intosh, widow of his only son. There were five brothers and the two sisters were married, thus forming a group of twelve persons who came from Amherst, Bedford and New Boston, New Hampshire in 1810 and the years following, located on farms in that area. Most remained on the farms that they settled for their entire lives. These farms continued to be mostly occupied by their descendants for over a century. The McIntoshes originally belonged to the Chattun Clan. Their home was in the north=central part of Scotland. Their coat of arms was the mountain cat and their motto was "Touch Not the Cat Without the Glove." William MC INTOSH and Jane PATTERSON were married on 8 Feb 1810.6 Jane PATTERSON was born on 13 Aug 1785 in New Boston, Hillsborough, New Hampshire.3,5 She died on 22 Mar 1870 in Bethel, Windsor, Vermont.7,22 She was buried in Gilead Cemetery, Bethel, Windsor, Vermont.9 William MC INTOSH and Jane PATTERSON had the following children: +9 i. William, Samuel, Isaac and Mary settled in Bethel in 1810, and shorlty after they purchased farms adjoining and lived and died in Bethel, Vt. Settled on the farm at the foot of the hill opposite the fork of the road to Beanville. This place is now owned by Robert Stretson. Samuel married Phoebe Wyatt. They lived their entire life on the farm they settled. Samuel was killed by a falling tree at the age of 69. Their son Samule also lived ther for 75 years. Samuel MC INTOSH and Phebe WYATT were married.10,11 Phebe WYATT was born about 1788.8 She died on 12 Jan 1880 in Bethel, Windsor, Vermont.7 She was buried in Gilead Cemetery, Bethel, Windsor, Vermont.9 Samuel MC INTOSH and Phebe WYATT had the following children: 15 i. Isaac McIntosh came to Gilead soon after this brother William. They came to the home of William whee they lived until their house was completed in 1817. This is the place where Glen trask now lives. Isaac MC INTOSH and Hannah PRINCE were married.13 Hannah PRINCE (daughter of Solomon PRINCE) was born about 1797.8 She died on 25 Dec 1881 in Bethel, Windsor, Vermont.7,14 She was buried in Gilead Cemetery, Bethel, Windsor, Vermont.9 Isaac MC INTOSH and Hannah PRINCE had the following children: 17 i. William Wyatt was one of the early settlers of Randoplh, coming there from Amherst, Massachusetts. William pruchased his farm of 90 acres and 30 rods from Frederick Converse of Randolph November 5, 1825 for $400, Converse was an early land speculator. He originally bought the land June 6, 1809 from Huckins Storrs, paying $2.20 for 134 acres of lot 102 Randolph that was sold by bid at a tax sale by Storrs, as constable ad tax collector. Isabella MC INTOSH and William D. WYATT had the following children: +24 i. Samuel WYATT, born on 28 Oct 1811, , , New Hampshire33; married Juliette Amanda Malvina DEWEY, on 11 Oct 1838, Woodstock, Windsor, Vermont30. 25 ii. John Prince settled over the ridge from the McIntosh heighborhood on the road to Beanville. Only the farm of Versal Corey separted the Prince farm from her brothers and sisters. Mary H.
