First Generation 1. Isaac CHAMBERLIN was born. Two Vermont Hollows, A History of Gilead and Little Hollows, by Leyland E. Wood, Published by L.E. Wood, Randolph Vermont 05060, 1976, p. 200. Four generations of Chamberlins had lived in Bethel up to 1888. Isaac, the first of this family that moved to Bethel, settled in South Lympus about 1819. He came from Stockbridge, Vermont. While there he married Arabella Bailey, and later with his wife and son, Isaac, 11 months old, he settled in Bethel. Isaac Chamberlin, soon afte he came into Lympus, became a class leader in Methodism and served for many years. He would frequently visit the houses of his members and pray with and for them. From the elder Isaac, the Chamberlin family inherited their devotion to the Methodist Church in Gilead. As long as any of this family remained in Gilead, they were pillars of support for this church. Isaac CHAMBERLIN and Arabella BAILEY were married.1,2 Arabella BAILEY was born. Isaac CHAMBERLIN and Arabella BAILEY had the following children: +2 i. Desire CHAMBERLIN, born about 18107; married Samuel DAVIS, on 30 Sep 18398; died on 8 Apr 1891, Bethel, Windsor, Vermont9. Second Generation 2. Isaac CHAMBERLIN (Isaac-1) was born on 21 May 1819 in Stockbridge, Windsor, Vermont.3,4 He died on 7 Nov 1902 in Bethel, Windsor, Vermont.4,6 He was buried in Gilead Cemetery, Bethel, Windsor, Vermont.10 The Illustrated Historical Souvenir of Bethel, Vermont. Here they lived and carried on the farm for the rest of their lives. Isaac CHAMBERLIN and Abbie BOWEN were married on 16 Jul 1843.2,5 Abbie BOWEN was born on 7 Jan 1824.4,6 She died on 10 Sep 1889 in Bethel, Windsor, Vermont.4-6 She was buried in Gilead Cemetery, Bethel, Windsor, Vermont.10 Isaac CHAMBERLIN and Abbie BOWEN had the following children: 4 i.
