Book Source: LDS FHL US/CAN 929.273 B865b 1982, p. 82. Benjamin Bugbee moved with his family from Woodstock, Connecticut to Pomfret, Vermont about 1775. The number of his children in his father's family, thirteen in number together with his own growing family, made it necessary to have more land to live on. He united with the church in Pomfret on June 6, 1784. He was one of the earliest settlers in Pomfret, was present at the first town meeting, and often held several town offices as there were too few individual to fill all the offices. Between the years of 1778 and 1781, during various periods of enlistment, Sylvester Bugbee performed military service under five different commanders. He lived in the house now occupied by Chester Foster on Main Street. Dr. Terry ws a pushing energetic physician, and met with gratifying success in his business. he was not a man that courted popularity, but depended almost entirely on his ability as a physician, rather than the friendship of his townsmen. He settled in Bethel in the spring of 1865, and made this place his home until his death. Dr. Ormon TERRY and Deborah BAKER were married in 1853 in Saranac, Clinton, New York.15 Deborah BAKER died in 1865 in Bethel, Windsor, Vermont.15 Dr. Ormon TERRY and Deborah BAKER had the following children: +55 i.
