A reception was given the new teachers of Black River academy Friday evening by members of the Baptist church and invited guests at their vestry. In the receiving line were Rev. and Mrs. E. G. French, Principal and Mrs. Harold C. Wells, Supt. and Mrs. Rudolph Keyes, Mrs. Herbert E. Walker, Miss Mardon I. Hood, Miss Margaret Enslin, Miss Evelyn Shields, Mr. and Mrs. Harold L. Norwood, Rev. H. B. Rankin. The ushers were Glenn Rainboth, Forrest Spaulding, Roy Johnston, Roy Bixby. The evening's program was as follows: Address of welcome, Judge Moore ; reading, Mrs. Jesse L. Spaulding ; vocal solo, Forrest Spaulding ; reading, Mrs. W. P. Dane ; "The Girl That Men Forget," Miss Alice Rainboth, Mrs. Addie Devereaux, Miss Evelyn Adams ; Quilting Party, Alice Rainboth, Elsie Erickson, Pearl Martin, Aurilla Hurd, Leola Fuller, Evelyn Adams.
