I have found most VT Town Clerks to be very nice. A few months ago I wrote to one and received an answer from a man who was helping the town clerk. He said she was new and needed help. He not only sent me what I requested, but knowing the line I was researching, he sent my a picture of Benjamin Cox who was the father of the wife of my direct line greatgrandfather.
