    2. First Generation 1. Capt. John KIMBALL was born on 9 Aug 1735 in Norwich, New London, Connecticut.1 He died in East Bethel, Windsor, Vermont.2 Illustrated Historical Souvenier of Randolph, Vermont, Compiled & Published by Nickenson & Cox, Published Randolph, Vermont 1895, p. 62. In the Revolutionary War. John Kimball, was a Lieutenant in Captain Ryley's Company, Colonel Samuel B. Webb's Regiment, 3rd Connecticut Line. His three sons enlisted in the same Company, these were: John, Jared and Richard. They all recieved pensions from the United States Government. Capt. John KIMBALL and Jerusha MECHAM were married on 9 Feb 1758 in Scotland, Windham, Connecticut.1,3 Jerusha MECHAM was born on 29 Jul 1735 in Scotland, Windham, Connecticut.1 She died on 4 Nov 1809 in East Bethel, Windsor, Vermont.1 Capt. John KIMBALL and Jerusha MECHAM had the following children: +2 i. Richard KIMBALL, born on 21 Aug 1762, Pomfret, Windham, Connecticut4,5; married Susanna HOLDEN6,7; died on 23 Nov 1828, Randolph, Orange, Vermont4,5. 3 ii. John KIMBALL was born. John Kimball elisted February 1, 1781, and served till January, 1782. He was detached, went Sount and was at the siege of Yorktown and the taking of Cornwallis. He soon after got a furlough, went home, and paid his brother Richard as a substitute. 4 iii. Jared KIMBALL was born. Jared Kimball enlisted February 1, 1782, and served till the last of October, 1783. He was in frequent skirmishes and joined the army at the Highlands near West Point. Second Generation 2. Richard KIMBALL (John-1) was born on 21 Aug 1762 in Pomfret, Windham, Connecticut.4,5 He died on 23 Nov 1828 in Randolph, Orange, Vermont.4,5 The Illustrated Historical Souvenir of Bethel, Vermont. Settled in Randolph, having bought the farm about one mile north of Randolph post office, owned since 1837 by Luther Granger, of James Tarbox, November 1, 1796, where he lived until his death. Richard Kimball served as a substitute for his brother Jared in Captain Ryley's Company, Colonel Samuel B. Webb'sRegiment, 3rd Connecticut Line in January, 1782, and was discharged October 3, 1783.
