    3. Ann I'm afraid that I missed the earlier Wright discussion, but Hartford does have a unique resource, which is that the clerk there wrote down the names of all the voters at most of the town meetings. He wrote down my great-great granfather Benjamin Powers' name as a voter in 1819, which is a blessing because that's the only record of his ever being there. It seems to me that if your Maria was born at Hartford in 1820, her dad David ought to have been there too. And he might well have voted at the town meeting. I assume you have checked the 1820 census in vain. But, suppose Maria's folks arrived at Hartford, and she was born, in 1821? They'd miss the census. But David ought to start voting, in this example, by 1823 (due to the two-year residency requirement). Those voter rolls can be just all kinds of handy, if your guy did his civic duty. I gather from the quoted messages there would be possibly two other David Wrights on the scene at Hartford, but with the younger one dying in 1817, that does narrow the field if a third David came along. Dead people only voted in places like New York City. Lester > > Who are your WRIGHT ancestors from Hartland? I have a Maria, b. abt 1820, > > with parents David and Sarah or Sally.
