Hi, I've done MANY applications and supplementals, was Registrar in UT, and have helped others get their papers approved, so I think I know how to do an application for approval on the first 'round (not meant to be bragging but only to show my qualifications). I am unaware of the need for "proof" of a death date when the birth date is over 200 years ago; it is assumed the person died. Yes, you put the death date down if you know it but don't have proof, then the genealogist at the DAR will put parentheses around that date, showing you don't have the proof. But maybe the registrar you are working with wants proof for everything. If so, good luck!
