Thanks, everyone for your helpful leads. I have looked at the Stonington CT area where Simeon was born and a local historian, Donald Malcarne, from the town of Essex CT, gave me lots of information about Meadow Woods near there. Lots of Williams families but no Knight families. And I have read up on an area near East Putney VT called Great Meadows near the CT river. There were a few Knight families (Artemas and Samuel and Jonathan) but not the right Williams family and not close enough to Hartland for that time period to make it likely. Tirzah, Simeon's wife, may have been born in MA, according to her daughter's census data in 1880 so I will investigate the Longmeadow area to see if there are any birth records for a Tirzah Knight (or Tirzah Dyer, her son's first name, or Tirzah Hayden, a daughter's middle name.) I greatly appreciate the helpfulness and deep knowledge of the genealogy community! ----- Original Message ----- From: "Bev Lasure" <vtrealtr@sover.net> To: <vtwindso@rootsweb.com> Sent: Thursday, March 06, 2008 7:48 PM Subject: Re: [VTWINDSO] Meadow Lands area > It refers to Samuel as being from Stonington, CT, in my copy of the > Hartland > Cemetery Records.
