Can some one tell me where this cemetery is located? I have a record that shows my 4great-grandparents, Samuel and Sibbel (Huntington ) Morgan are buried there. We plan to visit Vermont in October and would like to visit this cemetery. Thank you, Irene from Kansas

"Weathersfield Burying Grounds" is the name of a pamphlet/book *about* Weathersfield's cemeteries; it is not the name of a cemetery itself. I have a copy, by the way. If I can get home from work and find it, I'll look your folks up unless someone beats me to it. Darrell -- Darrell A. Martin a native Vermonter currently in exile in Illinois darrellm@sprynet.com
According to the Weathersfield Burying Grounds cemetery book reprinted in 1989 by the Weathersfield Historical Society, there are 13 burying grounds in Weathersfield. None of them are named the Weathersfield Burying Ground. Your folks seem to be buried in the Plain Cemetery, which according to the book is off from the road that leads from Perkinsville Lower Village to Weathersfield Gulf. [West of the Plains Road about 2/10s of a mile from Stoughton Pond Road (1989).] It was established in 1790 and with its more than 1100 graves is the largest and best known of Weathersfield's cemeteries. The Morgans you have are buried in the Northwest Part. Here is what the book says for the stones: Laura Ann dau. of Mr. Wm. R. & Mrs. Laura Morgan died Dec. 21, 1834 Ae 10 mos. In memory of Capt. Hezekiah R. Morgan whose death was occasioned by a fall from a building June 6, 1821 in the 26th year of his age. [An epitaph] Sibbel dau. of Capt. Samuel & Sibbel Morgan died Nov. 1 1806 aged 13 years & 27 days. In memory of Capt. Samuel Morgan who died Feb. 25, 1826 Ae 66 and of Sibbel his wife who died the same day Ae 60 [An epitaph] Hope this helps.
