Darrell, Please look for these names in the Probate Records: John Slafter who died 8 Oct 1819 Sylvester Slafter who died 9 May 1850 It could be that either of them went by Slater rather than Slafter. I notice you said there are six Slafters and one Slater. As I am positive that all these belong to my family, if you could possibly tell me their first names I will verify where they fit in, and probably get back to you with a request for their records, too. However, there is this: SLAFTER, John, residence Norwich, probate district Hartford, type Testate, year 1819, volume 6 Hope this is of use. The other first names are Alonzo, Bloomyfair [sic], Edmund F. [you have this one], Emmaline, John [above], Solon, and Stephen. All resided in Norwich or Bridgewater.
