    3. History of Royalton Vermont, Vol. 2, Evelyn Lovejoy, 1911 There is James listed and no Hoyt/Hoit listed in the genealogy section other than a few women of that name who married into other families. The entries for males are mostly in the History section (Vol. 1) and include Abraham Hoyt, Dr. Moses Hoyt and Ziba Hoyt. There is no James or Asa listed. Royalton Vermont, Hope Nash, 1975 Ziba Hoyt is listed as once owning one of the houses in District 4. Abraham Hoyt is listed as owning one of the farms in District 17 probably originally owned by Ziba Hoyt. Again there is no James nor Asa listed at all. I only have the books temporarily, on loan from NEHGS circulating library. It seems like Ziba or Abraham Hoyt may have been one of the progenitors of this line in Royalton. I have had trouble tracking James Hoit because he moved frequently and there were several of the same name. He is supposed to have married Mary Peebles and had several children including Samuel, Mindwell, Asa, Mahalah, James and others. My research is through Asa and I believe they traveled into Vermont. >James was supposed to be born in 1779 in Concord, NH, so he would be about 30 years of age in 1810. >James died in Lowell , Ma. in 1842 of complications of diabetes. > >If you have any light to shed, I would appreciate it! >David Emery Hoyt > > -- Robert Luce <[email protected]> --- Il faut supporter deux ou trois chenilles --- si on veut connaître les papillons.. --- -Antoine de Saint Exupéry

    3. Do you know of anyone with access to the census for 1810? I cant understand why James is listed on the census, but no records are found. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Robert Luce" <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Wednesday, October 23, 2002 1:43 PM Subject: Re: [VTWINDSO] HOYT/HOIT > History of Royalton Vermont, Vol. 2, Evelyn Lovejoy, 1911 > There is James listed and no Hoyt/Hoit listed in the genealogy > section other than a few women of that name who married into other > families.
