Connie - and everyone - I have written several times to the probate courts in Windsor county, although I've had fewer dealings with the Hartford district court than the Windsor district, because most of my people lived in the Windsor district. I have always found them to be very willing to assit me in my research, both by making copies of files for which I could give them date, volume, and page number, and in looking through their records for people who died more recently than the published index covers. Once, when I asked about someone earlier, they actually xeroxed and sent to me the relevant page from the published index, so I could figure out which of the people listed might be my relative (since none was listed under the exact name I had asked about). They charge 25 cents a page for copies, quite reasonable, I think. Blessings, Nancy Wygant
