Source, Rutland Daily Herald--July 27, 1886. LUDLOW, VT. Mr. Horace Hemenway of Council Bluff has sold his house on Pleasant street to Mr. Charles Goddard, and also livery stable on Main street. Considerable excitement was created Saturday evening on Main street by an unexpected display of horsemanship. While Mr. Ackley of Cuttingsville was turning his sulky around in front of the hotel the axle broke. letting one wheel to the ground. the driver managed to keep his balance and quiet his horse. Mr. Pentland and daughter Florence are guests of Mr. and Mrs. George Knight on Pleasant street. Henry Howe from Vergennes is in town. Mr. Emmet Buckmaster, with his family, is visiting at his father's, John Buckmaster. Mr. C. Wood from Cambridgeport, Mass., and Mrs. Dodge are at Mr. John Sack's.
