    3. Hi Darrell,I am a native Springfield, Vermonter too. Was thrilled to learn that "Our" Springfield won the right to show the premiere of the "Simpsons" movie. IT might generate a lot of good things for our town. I certainly hope so. They did a tremendous job in shooting the video, lots of enthusiastic Springfielders put their heart and soul into it. the director of the video also directed his father who played Bart Simpson. Hope you are doing ok up there in Illinois. 3. To the Windsor County, Vermont RootsWeb mailing list: The birth certificate of TV star and general ne'er-do-well Bart Simpson has been found, behind a file cabinet at the Town Clerk's office, 96 Main Street, in Springfield. Rumor has it, it's marked "SHRED" but I wouldn't put too much stock in that. Don't everybody rush down there at the same time to get your copy. I was born and raised in Springfield (SHS Class of 1967), fifth generation in the Town on my Mom's side. And as dumb as this is, it's probably a better thing for the Town than the prison. You NEED to see the video. Well, maybe not *need*, but.... OK, if you have nothing better to do, check this out. http://www.usatoday.com/life/movies/simpsons-contest.htm Darrell VTWINDSO list admin (not that it's any excuse) -- Darrell A. 3. Does anyone recognize this person? In 1790 the town of Hartford filed a petition for the appointment of a person to sell a 50 acre lot belonging to Reny Dunkin, a blind orphan Negro girl of that town. An intestate probate case was opened in 1791 for a Thomas Dunkin of Hartford. I'm wondering if this could be Reny's father. The 1791 Hartford, VT census has an "other free person" living in the household of Joshua Rider. I think this could be Reny. Any additional information welcome! Joann Nichols

    3. Yes town land records are at the Town Offices, also on microfilm, I understand, at Middlesex VT Records Research. Becky YOU WROTE: . It is so strange the marriage record has not been found in Cavendish or Weathersfield. (At least not yet.) My next plan is to start looking for births of the children of Rhoda Plant and Abel Baldwin, Jr.,at the Town Halls. If both parents are listed, the DAR may accept that as proof of their marriage. Also, when Abel (Jr.) sold the land it is possible Rhoda relinquished her dower rights. Are the land records also at the Town Clerk offices?

    3. Becky, Thank you anyway. I really appreciate the effort you made. I have obtained proof of the birth of Rhoda Plant in Weathersfield from the Town Clerk as a by-product of searching for the marriage record. Any other suggestions? Again, thank you for the help and guidance!
