Hi List, I have just been given information that the person I am looking for may have come from Windham County, VT. I am looking for an Enos STOCKWELL who married Lidia/Lydia West of NY. I was told that there was an Enos Stockwell born in Brattleboro (Windham County) VT in 1805 to Asaph Stockwell and Lucy Harris. That is about the correct date of birth for my Enos. He and Lydia had at least one child, Harriet STOCKWELL who was born about 1825 and died in 1907. Harriet first married John C. ROBERTS of Plattsburgh, NY and they had 2 children, Darwin and Sarah (Truman BATES). After John's death in 1882, Harriet remarried to James McKINNEY of Plattsburgh, NY in 1896. Harriet's daughter, Sarah BATES was the informant for her mother's death. I do not know how much Sarah actually knew about her family. She said that Harriet was born in MA. The death certificate is where I finally found the name of Harriet's parents. If you can be of some assistance in finding Enos STOCKWELL, I would love to hear from you. I have checked the roots archives, Familysearch, Genforum, Ancestry, Stockwell, Roberts, Bates lists without any success. My FHC is closed so I cannot order any films. Thank-you all in advance.
